Itinerary summary:
Day 1
Pinnacle Day Tour - Caversham Wildlife Park, Lobster Shack, Sand Dunes
Day 2
Perth City
Day 3
Mandurah, Ngilgi Cave and Cape Naturaliste
Day 4
Dolphin tour and Fremantle
We arrived in Perth after an evening flight, at about 11 pm and we took a taxi to the city to reach Criterion hotel which costs us about AUD 80.
The view of Perth city during the day - pretty much reminds me of Canberra back when there were not many skyscappers around. It seems like a lazy morning without much traffic around.
To view Perth in a broad brush manner as we only have about 4 days there, we signed up a day tour with Pinnacle Tour to cover a couple of places on a 4WD. The tour costs us AUD 150 per pax.
Upon departure, we passed by a fence where it was filled socks.
Our first stop was at Caversham Wildlife Park where we meet koalas and kangaroos. There were many and they're all very adept to visitors - probably overfed since it's one of the must-visit sites in Perth. Be careful where you're going as you may be stepping on these golden roo nuggets!
The next stop, which will also be our lunch stop, is actually at a Lobster Shack on the way to the Pinnacles. We were given a tour of how the lobsters were farmed, packaged and sold. Lunch consists of all things lobster at their little pantry at an additional cost depending on what you select.
And the highlight of the trip is the Pinnacles. It's basically an ancient desert sculpture, and to be honest, I wouldn't knew about it if not for someone's pre-wedding shot. But above all, I was move excited to experience the sandboarding, which was in reality, a very tiring adventure.
Going down the sand dunes, took only some 5 seconds but the time taken to climb back up is much longer. On top of that, you'll still need to wax your board so that you slide down at a faster pace. Taking the tour also means that we get to go up and down the sand dunes on a higher speed which average sedan cannot do. And it's also amazing to even catch fresh life like those wild flowers in a desert - giving you a hope that there must be an oasis somewhere, just like life!
